One of the highlights of the trip were the helicopter rides - we took a total of three. We saw this peak from the second helicopter ride, which brought us above Milford Sound (Piopiotahi). The contrast of the rugged rocks emerging from the fluffy clouds spoke to me of the endurance the original Polynesian explorers had. They disovered New Zealand by canoe in the 1300s.
