There aren’t many times when you want it to rain on a trip, but one is just before you arrive in Milford Sound. With more than a day of rain preceding us on our way into the sound, there were booming waterfalls in every direction.
This one is one of the Four Sisters - four similar waterfalls that are rarely seen in the sound unless it has been raining. With more than 180 days of annual rainfall, they make regular appearances.
