Crashing Waves

from $350.00

Western New Zealand is remote. There is one major road with the occasional huddle of houses in the background.

Punakaiki Pancake Rocks is one of those small, side-of-the-road attractions that you might not think twice about passing by on your way to somewhere else.

But like so many things in New Zealand, it is worth investigating.

While the area is best known for the stacked limestone formations, the waves crashing into these pillars made for dynamic images. As the last scheduled stop on our trip, it was the perfect ending.

Sony A7RIVA, Sony 24-70 f2.8 GM II, ISO 500 @42mm, f3.2, 1/800s
