

Glacial Cracks
This glacier is on the side of Mount Aspiring (Tititea). Tititea means ‘Peak of Glistening White’, and the mountain is similar in size and shape to the Mattorhorn. In legend, Tititea is the younger brother of Aoraki (Mt. Cook).
The Māori named the mountain after a chief of the Waitaha iwi (tribe), who were the first people to settle the South Island.
